Existing 3110 customers can send their unit to AE Techron to receive an upgrade to the latest hardware, firmware, and software, making their unit the equivalent to our 3110A Standards Waveform Generator.

Firmware Upgrade Benefits

3110A Firmware version 1.0.3390 (improvements over version 1.0.2990):

• Increased waveform complexity
• Longer runtimes
• GPIO and LAN segment instability improvements
• Increased frequency range from DC – 1 MHz

Firmware update 1.0.3390 provides improvements to long-term stability of waveforms ran on the 3110A. With previous versions of the firmware, using multiple nested loops or numerous GPIO or LAN segments would significantly limit the runtime of waveforms before a firmware timeout error would occur.

For waveforms which make use of nested fixed loops, runtime has been increased by ten times or more, depending on the complexity of the loops. For waveforms using GPIO or LAN signal outputs, runtime has increased approximately five times.

Software Update

Please note that outdated firmware may not accept the latest software update. AE Techron will need to know what version of firmware your 3110 unit is using before proceeding with the upgrade. To access your firmware version, go to the 3110 Settings / About Server.

The software update fixes a Pause/Stop/Run issue, and includes new tests:
