Engineering Project Manager
AE Techron is a world leader in wide bandwidth power electronics for Test Labs, Research Institutions, MRI/NMR and EMC industries. Our customers are Fortune 500 companies and leading research labs around the globe. AE Techron products are recognized as being robust, technically superior, and very well supported.
We are currently looking for an Engineering Project Manager who can lead our engineering teams and streamline our project timelines to meet our customers’ needs. This role will be critical to AE Techron’s success as recently introduced products increase the demands for our staff, increase product complexity, and increase the need for collaboration between the Engineering team and our Operations team.
This position will report directly to the company President.
The Engineering Project Manager’s objectives include:
- Develop and organize schedules between various Engineering teams (New Technology, Sustaining and Software Development) and between Engineering and other departments (Sales, Service, and Production).
- Embody personal core values that are consistent with company core values.
- Monitor departmental expenses and investment to identify ways to deploy resources, eliminate waste, improve product quality, increase employee safety and grow company profitability.
- As a member of the Senior Leadership team, participate in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
- Raise and track issues and conflicts, remove barriers, resolve issues of high complexity and redirect issues to appropriate level when required.
- Track team members progress and redirect work as needed to meet deadlines.
- Act as technical lead for small scale projects that are essential to overall department success.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Manage interdepartmental information and schedules to achieve effective and timely transition of new products, from development through production.
- Synthesize collected data into actionable information that can be used by supporting departments like Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing to make product improvements and improve decision-making.
- Communicate schedule, progress, and changes throughout company to keep all aspects of product realization, production, sales, and marketing in alignment.
- Supervise timely data collection to monitor product quality, manufacturability, and cost targets.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Basic understanding of Electronic Circuits, Programming, and Mechanical Design.
- Experience managing the development of technology-based products.
- Ability to develop and implement operational procedures and policies, particularly in times of change and growth, while maintaining product quality and staff safety.
- Ability to conduct research for special projects, respond in a timely manner to inquiries, and present both written and oral briefings.
- Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues.
- Good decision-making skills and measured response to high-pressure situations.
- Experience in both people and team management.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical/project management, or electronics.
- Required: Minimum of two (2) years of recent project management experience.
- Preferred: Will have led the creation and growth of technical departments, experience mentoring technical staff, and experienced with various personality types and learning styles.
