AE Techron’s CIS-25 ALC test system is an enhanced version of our traditional CIS-25 test kit with added Automated Level Control (ALC). This creates a closed-loop control system that measures output and adjusts gain dynamically, improving accuracy and efficiency in ripple testing. For DO-160 Section 18, this can save hours of manual adjusting.
In DO 160, Section 18 test setups, coupling transformers act as bandpass devices, crucial in signal transmission within 100Hz to 150kHz frequency range. For ripple tests in that range, the transformer is not always operating in its ideal 2:1 step-down region.
Traditionally, users have to manually measure and adjust amplifier gain at each test frequency to ensure the imposed ripple meets the required standards. This is a time-consuming and operator-dependent process that can add hours to Sec. 18 or MIL-STD 461 (CS101) testing.
To support your setup and ensure accurate testing, the CIS-25 ALC Test System includes two hours of expert consulting with EMC specialist Patrick G. Andre, who can assist with system configuration, test execution, and interpretation of standards. Also included with the kit are three coupling transformers (T1000, T2004, and T3700), CR600 Chattering Relay, and all necessary cables and connectors.
