When I worked in an EMC test lab, the toughest challenges were rarely solved with an off-the-shelf product. Our team was constantly challenged with new vehicle architectures, higher current requirements, and tighter project timelines—often beyond the limits of our existing systems.
One particularly challenging project required a completely new high-current test rack. None of our existing equipment could meet the new test specifications while fitting seamlessly into our lab environment.
That’s where AE Techron approached the project differently.
Instead of simply recommending a standard product, Larry and his support team took the time to understand the entire application. They wanted to know more than just the electrical requirements. They asked about:
- The application and test objectives
- The overall test setup
- Operator workflow and ergonomics
- Equipment placement within the lab
- How the system would be moved between test stations
Before long, I was meeting directly with an engineer to review mechanical drawings, amplifier configurations, cable routing, and layout options.
The collaboration was unlike anything I had experienced with a typical equipment supplier. Rather than pushing a single solution, we evaluated multiple approaches together. We discussed the advantages of both linear and switch-mode amplifiers, reviewed performance data, and worked through the tradeoffs until we found the best fit for the application.
The final design included features tailored specifically to our lab, including:
- A mobile high-current test rack
- Integrated controls
- Optimized output connector placement
- Operator-friendly access points
- A side-mounted monitor for improved workflow
What impressed me most was that AE Techron never treated the project as an equipment sale. They acted like an engineering partner who was invested in helping us succeed.
That’s the biggest difference I’ve experienced. If your testing application doesn’t fit neatly into a catalog, you don’t need someone who simply recommends a product—you need a team that’s willing to understand the problem, ask the right questions, and develop a solution around your requirements.
At AE Techron, we don’t just sell equipment—we help solve difficult engineering problems with practical, customized solutions backed by real technical expertise and support.
